About the Role
We're seeking a passionate and experienced dietitian to join our dynamic team, providing expert nutritional care to acute inpatients as well as renal patients across both inpatient and outpatient settings. You will support patient outcomes through evidence-based nutritional care, flexible to the needs of our whānau and service. This is a 12 month contract, based at Tauranga Hospital and the potential to extend support colleagues at Whakatāne Hospital, this role offers variety, connection, and scope to contribute meaningfully across the Bay of Plenty.
You will join a supportive team who value collaboration, equity, and person-centred care, and who recognise the power of nutrition in healing and recovery. Whether helping a post[1]op patient regain strength, advising on complex dietary needs, or educating whānau, your mahi will support wellbeing at every stage.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The Dietetics team forms part of a wider Allied Health team at Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora – Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty.

About you
You are a values-driven clinician who thrives in a collaborative team environment and brings a proactive approach to patient care. You communicate clearly, adapt easily, and are eager to support patients of all backgrounds through high-quality dietetic support.
What you will bring:
- Registration with New Zealand Dietitians Board and Annual Practicing Certificate.
- Experience in inpatient and/or outpatient dietetic services. Prior renal experience preferred.
- Sound knowledge of the Nutrition Care Process (NCP) and its application.
- A commitment to delivering equitable care and supporting Māori health gain.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
