Carejobz Recruitment is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with advanced cardiothoracic scrub experience to join a leading private hospital's Cardiothoracic Operating Theatre team in Auckland. This role offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus for permanent appointments at 0.6 FTE and above.

This is a rare opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art perioperative environment, including 10 modern operating theatres and a dedicated cardiothoracic OR. The hospital provides a full Perioperative service covering:

  • Adult cardiothoracics — CABG, valve repair/replacement, VATS, thoracotomies
  • General surgery
  • Orthopaedics
  • Urology
  • Neurosurgery
  • Vascular
  • Plastics & reconstructive
  • Gynaecology
  • Head & neck

About the Role

You will scrub for complex cardiothoracic procedures within a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, contributing to safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care

You'll work rostered weekday shifts (6, 8 or 10 hours) between 07:00 and 20:30, with on-call and some weekend lists. Flexible FTE is available.

What We're Looking For

To be considered, you must have:

  • Registered Nurse with current NCNZ APC
  • Minimum two years' recent cardiothoracic scrub experience
  • Experience in NZ or a comparable health system (Australia, UK, Ireland)
  • Strong perioperative clinical expertise
  • Ability to work collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, PACU, CSSD and wider theatre teams
  • Commitment to professional development, reflective practice, and continuous improvement
