About the role
Are you passionate about the role that graphic design plays in brand building? Do you have experience leading creative teams and fostering innovative design solutions? Do you thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment where creativity and excellence are paramount? We are seeking a talented and creative Design Studio Manager to join our Marketing team.
Reporting to the Head of Marketing, this role leads our in-house graphic design team (one direct report) and is responsible for driving creative standards and delivering on-brand, impactful, high-quality visual solutions that support business strategy and drive engagement with key audiences. The role combines creative direction, team leadership, project management, and hands-on design expertise. The role is a key member of the Marketing Leadership Team.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead our design efforts and set our creative standards as we continue to evolve and develop the local FBNZ design system, ensuring we build and strengthen our distinctively Kiwi identity while also being directionally consistent with global Fujifilm brand guidelines.
- Work closely with the wider marketing team to develop creative concepts and campaigns that support business strategy.
- Design marketing materials for a range of media including landing pages, brochures, flyers, posters, banners, and advertisements.
- Design and update company presentations, bids and proposals, reports, and other internal and external documents.
- Develop templates and design standards to streamline the production of marketing materials.
- Ensure all visual communications meet high standards of quality, user-friendliness, accuracy and brand consistency.
- Review and gain sign off for all final designs before production or publication.
- Develop and manage the design studio plans (quarterly and annual) and budget and ensure optimal allocation of resources to maximise ROI.
Skills & experience
We are looking for someone with a 'client-first' mindset who is a strong team player, positive, proactive and results-oriented, resilient and innately curious, with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and a creative mindset. Along with this, you will also have:
- Tertiary qualification in Graphic Design, Visual Arts or related field.
- Minimum of six years' experience in graphic design with a strong portfolio showcasing a high degree of creativity and a range of design projects.
- Deep understanding of the principles of brand and the role that design plays in brand building.
- Highly organised with good time and project management skills, outstanding attention to detail, and a proven ability to consistently deliver to deadlines and budgets.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and other design software.
- Proficiency in HubSpot Marketing Suite.
- Proficiency in Office 365, especially PowerPoint.
- Experience in people management, mentoring, coaching and leadership.
- Well-developed business acumen and comfortable building effective working relationships with people at all levels of an organisation.
- Highly organized with good time and project management skills, outstanding attention to detail, and a proven ability to consistently deliver to deadlines and budgets.
