Ara Institute of Canterbury is seeking an Operations Coordinator – Performing Arts to provide oversight and coordination of non-teaching events, exhibitions, and meetings for Art and Design, including engagement and promotions. The role also involves facilitating CAPEX applications, liaising with ICT for facility upgrades, managing social media, coordinating health and safety responsibilities of technical staff, and supporting the Faculty Operations Manager as required.

Expression of Interest eligibility

  • Relevant tertiary qualification at degree level in an appropriate discipline
  • Experience in planning and coordinating performing arts events and exhibitions
  • Experience working with young people in an educational setting, preferably tertiary
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage social media and promotional activities
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements and ability to coordinate compliance
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships across teams
  • Digitally literate in Office systems and able to quickly learn Ara-specific systems
