About us
Leslie Groves is a not-for-profit organisation that provides aged residential care spread across two sites; the Leslie Groves Hospital (located in Wakari) offers Hospital-level care, Psychogeriatric Care, and Secure Dementia care for 75 residents and the Leslie Groves Rest Home which is situated in Roslyn providing Rest Home level care for up to 33 residents.

About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic person to join our Diversional Therapy Team as an Activities Co-ordinator up to 35 hours per week over five days (10am to 5.30pm). However, we can be a little flexible with the hours for the right candidate. You will work closely with the Diversional Therapy Team Lead to deliver engaging and varied activity programmes across both residential care sites.
This role includes:
● Resident assessments and planning
● Coordinating stimulating group and person-centered activities
● Organising resident events, activities, and outings
About you
● You will be someone who has a passion for working with older people.
● Ideally, you will have worked within an aged care setting – this is not essential but advantageous. Ongoing on-site training will be provided.
● You will be able to demonstrate patience and compassion when dealing with older people.
● This role will require you to be active to encourage and motivate residents to
participate.
● You will be a people person and enjoy interacting and motivating others, including those who have physical or mental limitations.
● You like to think outside the box when it comes to planning activities and outings for residents which ensures variety and engagement.
● Your verbal and written communication skills will be of a high standard
● You will be computer literate with clear and concise documentation skills
● Excellent time management, and professionalism.
● Be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
● Hold a full clean New Zealand driver's licence (essential).
