Graphic Designer - Lamb & Hayward Funeral Home

Lamb and Hayward are locally owned and have been Canterbury's most trusted funeral directors for more than a century. The Lamb and Hayward Group comprises leading funeral brands Lamb and Hayward, Christchurch Crematorium Funeral Services and Paterson's Funeral Services, Ashburton. Our exceptional facilities, support and service help guide families through a difficult time of loss and sadness.

We are looking for a Graphic Designer to work fulltime on a six-month Maternity Leave cover, with potential to extend, to assist us in meeting the needs of our families.

You'll be part of an established team working Monday – Friday, and be part of an on-call roster for Public Holidays.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Meeting with bereaved families to discuss service sheets, music selection, and photo presentations
  • Design, proofing, and production of personalised service sheets, and other items
  • Video and audio editing
  • Creating other marketing materials as required
  • Daily set-up of live streaming, website and social media updates
  • General related duties

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • Empathetic and collaborative communication style when working with our families and funeral team

  • Experience in using:

  • Mac Computers

  • Adobe Creative Suite (in particular InDesign and Photoshop)

  • iTunes, Microsoft Suite

  • Attention to detail particularly in layout, spelling and grammar

  • Open to learning new styles and processes
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Effective time management
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with tight timeframes
  • Enjoy working in a busy office environment as part of a team
