Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
As a Senior Software Developer you will undertake all aspects of development activity within our agile software development teams to fulfil business requirements.
You will:
- Take technical ownership across all stages of software development within the Tuihono UC distributed ecosystem.
- Design, develop, and maintain software components for student-facing applications using Python, C# and Angular, adhering to established architecture, coding standards, and design patterns.
- Collaborate with internal development and integration teams to ensure reliable data and event flows from and to enterprise systems for Tuihono UC.
- Support and enhance vendor-developed integrations, working closely with external partners to troubleshoot issues, validate technical designs, and maintain alignment.
- Deploy and manage infrastructure and cloud resources using Terraform and related automation tools.
- Familiarity with both Azure and AWS, including running containerised workloads as well as integration-focused Platform as a Service workloads, and experience integrating with Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Apply strong knowledge of networking and connectivity principles to ensure integration reliability and resolve communication issues between systems.
- Participate in release planning and coordination for Tuihono UC features delivered in parallel with Student Management System deployments.
- Proactively identify and resolve root causes of system limitations and defects, contributing to long-term platform stability and maintainability.
Mōu | Who You Are
You will be an experienced Software Developer with at least At least 7 years commercial software development experience, using more than one programming language, including both python and C#, as well as have:
- Experience building backends for web-based applications, using modern tools and frameworks.
- Experience working with application design patterns for API design, as well as modern integration design patterns and technologies, and the use of unit and end-to-end testing frameworks.Experience working with continuous integration and continuous deployment; and with modern version control and build/test automation tools, and experience with public cloud application development.
- Understanding and experience with data model design, and database development and management.
- A proven ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts (both orally and in writing) as well as an ability to write technical and functional documentation.
- Bachelor's Degree (NZQA Level 7) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or closely related software development discipline.
