At Phocas, engineers don't just write features — they solve real-world modelling, performance, and data challenges for customers making high-stakes financial decisions every day.

For over twenty years, we've helped businesses transform complex operational and financial data into action. That means dealing with scale, ambiguity, multi-dimensional data and performance expectations that don't allow for shortcuts. We're now building our next generation of Financial Planning & Analysis products, and we're looking for engineers who thrive on solving intricate problems with clarity and elegance.

You'll join a team solving complex problems for enterprise customers, including:

  • Inter-company Eliminations: Creating UI and data capabilities that allow customers to manually or automatically reconcile data between internal business entities when rolling up to Head Office level.
  • Multi-currency: Enabling customers to manage budgets and forecasts across regions with flexible exchange rates and interfaces that support consolidated views in a single currency.
  • Headcount Planning: Designing and delivering a new standalone repository for staff data to support better budgeting, forecasting, and workforce management.

We're looking for:

A full stack engineer with strong front-end capability and solid experience in:

  • React & TypeScript
  • Java
  • SQL and database querying
  • Data modelling and performance optimisation
  • Experience delivering cloud-based applications (ideally on AWS)

You communicate technical decisions clearly, collaborate well across disciplines, and have a bias towards prototyping and iterative delivery. You're curious, pragmatic, hungry to learn, and motivated by shipping high-quality solutions that make life easier for users.

Bonus points for:

  • Experience with financial or accounting systems
  • Handling large or complex datasets
  • Effective use of automated testing
