Key Performance Objectives (KPOs)

  • Within the first year, you will develop and execute a comprehensive market entry strategy for Papua New

Guinea and at least two other Pacific Island countries, achieving (TBC) in sales within 12 months. This

involves identifying key market opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and securing initial sales

channels. Success will be measured by achieving the sales target and establishing a significant market

presence with measurable brand recognition.

  • In the first 24 months, you will assist the team in planning, developing, and successfully launching a retail

store with product presence New Zealand. This includes site procurement selection, store design, vendor

negotiations, and team recruitment. By the end of the 24 months, the retail store should be operational with

strong initial sales figures and positive customer reception. Subsequently, within the next 36 months, a

similar store should be launched in overseas in selected countries like Fiji and PNG, with both stores

contributing significantly to the company's overall revenue.

  • Within the first year, you will lead the purchasing for the Fabrics and Fashion division, implementing valuedriven

procurement processes, and systems. The goal is to streamline operations, achieve cost savings, and

ensure high-quality diverse product availability. This includes building and maintaining strong relationships

with key suppliers and implementing multiple process improvements to enhance efficiency.

  • You will drive a 25% increase in revenue from new markets within the first year through effective business

development strategies for the Fabrics, Fashion, and FMCG sectors in PNG. This will be achieved by

leveraging existing and new vendor relationships, optimizing procurement, and ensuring alignment with the

company's strategic goals. Regular progress reports and revenue tracking will be essential to measure

success and adjust strategies as needed.

  • Within the first year, you will be part of the team to help recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team

members. The local based team members will be critical in supporting market expansion and procurement

activities. Success will be measured by candidate quality, team KPI's, training and market success.

Major Challenges

1. Navigating New Markets: Understanding and navigating the unique business environments of Papua New Guinea

and other Pacific Islands will be crucial. This includes dealing with different regulatory frameworks, cultural nuances,

and logistical complexities.

2. Establishing Retail Presence: Launching a new retail store in competitive markets like New Zealand and PNG will

require meticulous work on the foundation of our company, planning, strong vendor relationships, and effective

marketing strategies to attract and retain customers.

3. Optimising Procurement: Streamlining procurement processes across diverse product categories and ensuring

consistent quality and cost-effectiveness will be a significant challenge, requiring strategic negotiation skills and

process improvement expertise.

4. Transition from Established Roles to Start-Up: Moving from a well-established role within a large company to a

small, dynamic startup will require flexibility and the ability to wear many hats. This is a significant challenge for,

senior managers, especially those from smaller countries like Fiji with minimal international exposure.

5. Building and Leading a Lean Team: Establishing and working with a team with the highest output using technology

to meet your objectives while keeping the team size as lean as possible will be essential. This involves effective

delegation, resource management, and team development to achieve business goals.

6. Using technology to drive efficiency, innovation and progress within your area.
