About the role

We are seeking an experienced Chef to join the team at Macau Restaurant in the heart of Tauranga's vibrant city centre. This full-time position is an exciting opportunity for a skilled culinary professional to showcase their expertise and contribute to the ongoing success of our popular establishment.

What you'll be doing

  • Preparing and cooking a wide variety of high-quality dishes from our diverse menu
  • Ensuring food is presented to the highest standards
  • Adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations at all times
  • Collaborating with the kitchen team to develop new menu items and improve existing ones
  • Assisting with inventory management and ordering of supplies
  • Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a Chef in a reputable restaurant or hospitality establishment
  • Formal culinary training or qualifications in Hospitality and/or Culinary Arts
  • Excellent knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and presentation
  • Strong time management and multitasking abilities
  • Commitment to upholding high standards of food safety and hygiene
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
