Welcome to The Junction – where classic English pub charm meets contemporary Kiwi flair. Opening mid-February, The Junction will celebrate honest, hearty food crafted from fresh seasonal produce, dry-aged and cured meats, and traditional pub favourites reimagined with a modern twist.

We're creating a vibrant, welcoming space for locals and visitors alike to relax, share great food, and enjoy genuine hospitality.


The Role

We're on the lookout for a passionate and creative Head Chef to lead our kitchen from the ground up. This is an incredible opportunity to shape the menu, build your team, and bring your vision to life in a brand-new venue.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Developing and executing a seasonally driven menu that blends classic pub fare with modern Kiwi influence.
  • Managing all kitchen operations, including ordering, food cost control, and health & safety compliance.
  • Leading, training, and inspiring your kitchen team.
  • Working closely with local suppliers to champion fresh, regional produce.
  • Maintaining the high culinary standards that will define The Junction.

About You

You're a hands-on leader with creativity, drive, and a love of great food. You'll bring:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef.
  • A deep understanding of contemporary pub cuisine.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills.
  • A passion for using fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients.
  • The desire to be part of something new and exciting from the very start.
