Curriculum Designer - Wilson Bay Campus (Fixed Term)

Saint Kentigern is a leader among independent schools in Australasia, providing a high-quality, values-based Presbyterian education.

Our newly acquired Wilson Bay Campus (a rural and sustainable farm) creates opportunities that reach across our Saint Kentigern community - students, staff, families, alumni, and partners. These opportunities, experiences, and connections will help foster an interconnected community through which students learn to lead with purpose and contribute positively to their communities, country, and beyond.

Wilson Bay Farm marks the beginning of a new chapter - a continuation of our founding purpose: a legacy shaped by faith, made possible by the community, and called forward by a vision too important to ignore.

We are currently seeking a Curriculum Designer for an 18-month project, to share our vision for the campus curriculum.

Key duties and responsibilities:

As the Curriculum Designer for the Wilson Bay Campus, this role will lead the development of a comprehensive, progressive curriculum that:

  • Connects students with the real-world science of farming, aquaculture, and sustainability.
  • Builds scientific literacy, inquiry skills, hands-on problem-solving ability and life skills in the outdoors.
  • Develops leadership, teamwork, and responsibility through collaborative and cross-age projects.
  • Fosters a sense of belonging to the farm, with awareness of professional pathways in primary industries.

It is intended the curriculum will immerse children from urban schools (Years 4–13) in the applied sciences of farming, aquaculture, energy, water, and food systems, in conjunction with the existing curriculum areas in each of our schools. Through experiential learning, students will connect theory to practice by working directly with land, water, animals, crops, and energy systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Curriculum Leadership and Strategy
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Experiential Curriculum development
  • Validation and Evaluation

The role will combine scientific rigor with outdoor education, ensuring all learning is hands-on, inquiry-driven, and grounded in real-world application. Students will also build leadership, teamwork, and stewardship skills in a faith-based, caring, and collaborative residential environment.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Education (or related discipline)
  • Proven experience in curriculum design (preferably Years 4–13) with a strong background in applied science, environmental, or agricultural education.
  • Skilled in designing experiential, inquiry-based learning.
  • Knowledge of health and safety in outdoor and applied science contexts.
  • Ability to create progressive, age-appropriate pathways in scientific and outdoor learning.

Application Process:

Please apply online using the vacancy link provided and include your updated CV, NZ Teacher Registration (if applicable) and a cover letter detailing your curriculum strengths and co-curricular interests. Please do not email applications.

Applications close Monday 1st December 2025.
