About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Bay Establishments Ltd as an experienced Duty Manager at the Mission Bay Tap Room, Auckland location. As Duty Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hotel, ensuring a seamless and exceptional experience for all guests. This full-time role is crucial in supporting the overall success of the business.

We are looking for someone to be a productive team member in a business that has seen growth throughout the previous 3 years, despite the economic struggle faced by the industry. At Mission Bay Tap Room we have created a relaxed and welcoming beach bar, however but we take pride in maintaining high standards- we are looking for someone who does the same.

What you'll be doing

  1. Supervising and coordinating the work of the front of house team to ensure efficient and high-quality service
  2. Responding to guest inquiries and resolving any issues or complaints in a timely and professional manner
  3. Handling financial duties such as cash handling, banking, and reporting
  4. Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and security regulations
  5. Assisting with the implementation of new policies, procedures, and service initiatives
  6. Supporting the General Manager and owner in the overall management of the site
  7. Initiate and drive promotions and maximise revenue

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar Duty Manager/Restaurant/Bar Manager Role
  2. Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
  3. Excellent customer service orientation and problem-solving abilities
  4. Strong commercial acumen and financial management skills
  5. A passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences
