The opportunity

Downers Energy & Utilities business are seeking their next superstar Health & Safety Advisor to support the South Island Water contracts. This is a full-time permanent opportunity with the successful individual being based in Christchurch with regular travel to Dunedin and Invercargill.

Reporting directly to the HSE Manager - Water & Automation you will form part of a team of 3 advisors who are based across the wider NZ supporting alternate water contracts whilst working collaboratively together.

What you'll do

As a Health & Safety Advisor, you will provide technical advice, support, coaching and mentoring to internal stakeholders across our water business. This dynamic role will have a mix of office and site-based exposure and will have a focus on bringing people together to ensure we achieve our Safety objectives whilst contributing to the innovation of the business.

What we're looking for

  • Cert IV in WHS partnered with demonstrated experience in a similar role.
  • ICAM Lead Investigator and auditing qualifications are desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills with an emphasis on reporting.
  • The ability to in train, coach and develop various stakeholders on site and in the office.
  • Collaborative communication style with the ability to work effectively as a member of a team which contributes to relationships creating success.
