About the role

We are seeking an experienced Catering/Online Manager to join our team at New World Metro Willis Street in the heart of Wellington CBD. This full-time role will see you responsible for managing the catering and online order fulfilment for our busy supermarket. You will play a crucial part in delivering an exceptional customer experience and contributing to the overall success of the store.

What you'll be doing

  • Oversee the catering and online order operations, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of customer orders
  • Roster and manage the catering and online order fulfilment teams, providing training and support as needed
  • Liaise with the wider supermarket team to coordinate the preparation and packaging of catering and online orders
  • Monitor inventory levels and work with the buying team to ensure appropriate stock levels for catering and online orders
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve the customer experience
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to any queries or complaints in a timely manner
  • Assist with other store operations as required

Hours of work

Mon-Fri 5am - 2pm as a base, hours may change daily due to order and delivery times

What we're looking for

  • Significant experience in a similar catering or online order fulfilment role, ideally within the hospitality or retail industry
  • Strong communication skills, email and in person
  • Strong customer service orientation and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to coach and develop a team
  • Sound understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Proficient in the use of relevant technology and software systems
