As a Speech Language Therapist at Ruru Specialist School, you will join a dynamic and highly experienced team of therapists, working with high and very high ORS funded students aged 5 to 21 years. Our specialist team currently consists of 3 Speech Language Therapists, 2 Occupational Therapists, a Physiotherapist, and a Music Therapist.

Our school is a vibrant, progressive environment with a focus on interprofessional collaborative practice. We believe that every student has the right to a voice and therefore have a vested interest in the area of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).

We are offering a full-time Permanent position and a full-time fixed term position (covering Parental leave) starting Term We offer a varied caseload with flexibility to accommodate professional strengths and interests. The school has an embedded growth culture, and we provide excellent professional development opportunities to help you build and expand your therapeutic skills and approaches.

If you want to join us, you'll need to:

· Be a qualified Speech Language Therapist

· Qualify for NZSTA membership

· Have a valid driver's license - as travel between satellite classes is required

Experience working in special education and a Communication Assistive Technology (CAT-1) accreditation is preferred, but we are also keen to hear from new graduates, as we will be able to support working towards full registration with NZSTA and provide professional development in the area of AAC. Your salary will be dependent on the experience and qualifications you bring to the role with terms and conditions as per the Primary Teachers Collective Agreement.
