As the Plant Engineer, you will support the Production Team by ensuring the line operates at optimal efficiency. You will be someone who works well independently, with proven experience in creating and maintaining line efficiencies in the manufacturing industry or similar. You will work in a clean and efficient production team located in beautiful Otakiri.

This role includes carrying out reactive maintenance and repairs, while proactively identifying opportunities to enhance line performance and machine safety at the plant. You will also contribute your technical expertise and planning skills to continuous improvement projects and liaise effectively with suppliers and contractors, both on and offsite.

This role would be suitable for an experienced electrical or mechanical engineer, mechanical fitter and turner or Millwright - This opportunity is available for an immediate start, for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will have:

  • 8+ years' New Zealand experience in a manufacturing environment within the food industry.
  • Trade-based engineering qualification.
  • Experience working with PLCs, VSDs, Scada systems and/or limited electrical license.
  • Excellent knowledge of GMP and food safety.
  • Experience in welding stainless steel (light fabrication), lathe and various pieces of workshop equipment.
  • Ability to set up and implement maintenance excellence programs
  • Experience in using a CMMS application and pneumatic experience.
  • FMCG experience involving filling, labeling and packaging equipment
  • Forklift certification preferred
