About the role:

As Procurement Manager, you will lead Apex Water's end-to-end sourcing, contracting, and supplier management across both local and offshore supply chains. This role ensures our procurement practices support operational reliability, strong commercial outcomes, compliance, and long-term strategic growth.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you'll be the single point of contact for all suppliers, owning the negotiation, execution, and lifecycle management of supplier agreements to ensure every partnership delivers value, performance, and alignment with Apex Water's business needs. You'll also lead and support a Logistics Administrator.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead end-to-end procurement across materials, plant, equipment and services (local and offshore), including tendering, purchasing set-up, and governance.
  • Own supplier and contract management as the single point of contact - negotiating agreements, managing performance (KPIs/SLAs), renewals, variations, and resolving issues/claims.
  • Drive commercial value and risk management through cost optimisation, market analysis, compliance, and proactive supply chain risk mitigation.
  • Partner with the wider business to lift procurement capability, support projects/operations, and lead the Logistics Administrator to ensure smooth delivery outcomes.

About you and what you'll bring:

You're a commercially-minded procurement leader who can set strategy, negotiate confidently, and build strong supplier partnerships - while also bringing the detail and rigor needed for best-practice contract management and compliance. Ideally you'll bring:

  • 5–10+ years in a similar procurement role, with strong commercial judgement, proven negotiation capability, and end-to-end contract and supplier management experience (including performance management and risk mitigation).
  • A relevant Bachelor's degree (business, supply chain, or similar) and confident using Microsoft Office and procurement/ERP systems (MYOB Acumatica is an advantage).
  • Strong communicator and relationship builder—able to influence stakeholders, manage suppliers professionally, and maintain disciplined documentation and compliance.
  • Analytical, proactive, and solutions-focused, with excellent organisation/time management, resilience, and a customer/service mindset; water/construction industry experience and procurement strategy/planning experience are advantageous.
