This role is an extension to our payroll officer roles to ensure compliance with payroll functions, focusing on legislative adherence, automation, streamlined processes, effective communication, and continuous improvement. We are looking for a strong knowledge of Australian and New Zealand legislative requirements (minimum 4+ years' experience processing payroll for over 500 employees). This is a fixed-term role until 30 April 2027.

In addition to the above, tasks may include:  

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, providing accurate compliance guidance
  • Manage and calculate Australian Third Party Payments (Enterprise Agreements) and relevant NZ payments
  • Handle NZ ACC and AU WorkCover/Income Protection calculations, payments, and reconciliations
  • Process Australian PAYG and New Zealand PAYE + Associates payments
  • Assist with Year End PayGlobal upgrades and maintain Long Service Leave accuracy for Australian employees
  • Support legislation changes and testing to ensure payroll compliance
  • Support Group Payroll Compliance Supervisor or Team Lead with tasks and projects as required

We're looking for someone with:

  • Proven experience in NZ and/or AU payroll processing - 4+ years' experience processing payroll for over 500 employees
  • High attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to assess and identify risks pertaining to non-compliance
