About the role

Frost Architectural Builders ltd' are looking for a skilled, qualified Builder to join our growing team in Christchurch Central Canterbury. This is a full-time role with opportunities for career progression within our expanding business. As a Qualified Builder, you will play a key part in the execution of high-quality residential building projects.

What you'll be doing

  1. Reading and interpreting building plans and specifications
  2. Carrying out a range of building tasks such as framing, roofing, cladding, and finishing work
  3. Coordinating with subcontractors and managing the flow of materials and equipment on site
  4. Ensuring compliance with all relevant building codes, regulations, and health and safety standards
  5. Providing guidance and supervision to junior team members
  6. Collaborating closely with the wider project management team

What we're looking for

  1. Formal qualifications in carpentry or a related building trade
  2. Minimum 5 years' experience as a qualified Builder, ideally in residential construction
  3. Strong working knowledge of building codes, regulations, and construction best practices
  4. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  5. Ability to read and interpret building plans and specifications
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  7. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship
  8. A positive, collaborative, and safety-focused attitude
