KITCHEN COOK MANAGER | PERMANENT FULL TIME | LAKEWOOD

Alden Lakewood is looking a new kitchen team, and we're looking for a Kitchen Cook Manager who enjoys leading from the front. If you love creating good food, keeping a kitchen running smoothly, and making a positive difference for our residents, this could be the role for you.

As our Kitchen Cook Manager, you'll oversee daily operations in a busy commercial kitchen while supporting a welcoming and inclusive environment for both staff and residents. You'll guide the team, maintain high food safety standards, and help deliver meals that support the wellbeing of our aged care community.  This is a full-time role with rostered shifts from Monday to Friday, totaling around 34 to 36 hours, starting at 6:15am.

Preferred Qualifications

• Formal culinary training or equivalent hospitality qualifications

• Previous leadership or senior kitchen experience

• Commitment to ongoing learning and staying current with industry practices

About You

• Strong knowledge of food preparation and safety

• Understanding of food safety standards 167 and 168

• Food Handling Certificate required

• Skilled in NZ Food Safety requirements and Food Control Plans

• Experience in a commercial and aged care setting is desired

• Reliable, organised, and steady under pressure

• Warm, caring approach and genuine interest in supporting older adults

• Clear communicator and a natural team player

• Comfortable working under pressure and adapting to changing needs
