We're looking for a hardworking, physically tough individual to join our Christchurch-based team as a Decontamination & Heavy-Duty Cleaning Technician. This isn't your average cleaning job — it's hands-on, high-intensity, and physically demanding work that involves removing waste, debris, and contaminants from residential properties across the South Island.

You'll be part of a small, tight-knit crew that takes on some of the toughest cleaning and restoration jobs out there. You'll need strength, stamina, and serious attention to detail to make sure every site is cleaned and decontaminated to the highest standard. All travel, accommodation, and meals are fully covered while you're on the road.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out heavy-duty cleaning, waste removal, and full decontamination of residential properties.
  • Lift, carry, and dispose of large amounts of waste and materials, often in tight, dirty, or high-intensity environments.
  • Follow detailed cleaning procedures to ensure every surface and space meets strict health and safety standards.
  • Operate cleaning and decontamination equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Work closely with your teammate to get jobs done on time and to specification.
  • Maintain professionalism and respect when working in clients' homes.
  • Strictly follow all PPE and health & safety protocols at every site.

About You

  • Physically strong, fit, and resilient — this is hard, hands-on work that'll keep you moving all day.
  • Comfortable working with waste, dirt, and debris in a variety of environments.
  • Has a sharp eye for detail — takes pride in doing the job right the first time.
  • Reliable and tough-minded, with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Full driver's licence (strongly preferred) and reliable transport within Christchurch.

Willing to travel regularly and work the occasional weekend when needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 30 per week
