Job Description

Online Tutor - Pharmacy

Location: Remote - NZ

Full-time | Permanent | Remote – Anywhere in NZ

This is a fully remote full-time permanent role, and we are open to candidates from anywhere within New Zealand.

About the role:

As an Online Tutor - Pharmacy, you will directly influence the next generation of aspiring Pharmacy Technicians within New Zealand, as you share your experience, skills and training with students from many backgrounds. In this role, you will be in an energetic online asynchronous learning environment where value is placed on delivering outcomes and student engagement in our Pharmacy Technician courses.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

• Connect with students through facilitated asynchronous delivery: through our platform's forums, messaging and live sessions.
• Deliver assessments and grade assessments: ensuring students are evaluated to prescribed national and local qualification standards
• Participate in the continuous improvement of course content and learning resources
• Be available to give subject related support to your Online students, in a caring and encouraging manner via our Online learning platform and Online communication channels
• Keep records of accurate student data, assessment results, student participation, student-at-risk and other required documentation
• Provide basic pastoral care and support to the students.

Qualifications

About you:  

You will need to be a New Zealand Registered Pharmacist, or be an experienced Pharmacy Technician holding a NZ Certificate in Pharmacy Technician L5 or NZ Diploma in Pharmacy Technician (Specialist) L6. We are looking for someone with a passion for Pharmacy Education and educating future pharmacy technicians in this industry.

You don't need any experience in teaching/tutoring as we will provide you with comprehensive training and support you with teaching tools to become successful in your tutor role.

In addition, you will have:

• Industry background with proven professional experience in New Zealand

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Able to practice patience & try out new things

• Connect and build relationships with all your students from all walks of life

• Passionate and enthusiastic about sharing knowledge and fostering success

• Strong digital literacy with competency in Microsoft 365 Suite

• A keenness to expand your adult teaching skillset as part of your professional development
• Prior teaching experience is not essential but highly advantageous
• Commitment to Te Tiriti O Waitangi
