ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Leading Hand – Mechanical Assembly is jointly responsible for all work that is conducted within the Mechanical Production work centre, and specifically responsible for the mechanical component of that work. This includes the quality of output meeting Rocket Lab standards, meeting customer-driven delivery milestones, as well as the efficiency and safety of the technicians operating in the work centre.
Focusing on the day-to-day task allocation, the Leading Hand ensures that productivity is maximised to enable delivery to be achieved on schedule, without compromising on safety or quality.
YOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:
• Trade qualified in relevant industry or must be able to demonstrate 5+ years of relevant industry experience
THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:
• Leading Hand experience.
• Proven ability to manage resources to meet expected production rate demand and plan for future increases.
• Proven ability with aligning capacity to production forecast.
• Proven ability to develop leadership in direct reports.
• Has shown high level of responsibility towards team.
• Has shown ability to improve processes and increase efficiency of tasks within functional area.
• A high work rate and be able to work overtime and additional hours if needed.
• A very high level of attention to detail and the ability to produce work to an exceptional standard of accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• The ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as autonomously.
• Able to read, understand and follow manufacturing instructions and drawings.
• Positive, can-do attitude. Leads by example.
• Experience within a medium-high volume manufacturing or maintenance facility is desirable.
Wage dependent on experience: between NZD$ NZD$ 53.50 per hour.
