Mō te tūnga| About the role

Working alongside the Senior Designer and Manager Content and Channels, this role will provide Oranga Tamariki with graphic design services, assist in content creation across all touch points ensuring content has integrity and supports Oranga Tamariki achieve its mission.

We are looking for a mid-level talented graphic designer who knows the Adobe Creative Cloud suite like the back of their hand. A basic level of Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint and an understanding of design thinking methodology would also be useful to have up your sleeve. Brand guidelines, infographics, reports, social media content, internal communications are all familiar to you and you'll have a portfolio that demonstrates your incredible skills.

Key requirements of the role include:

  • Tertiary qualification in Graphic Design
  • Ability to create exceptional crafted visual communication solutions for our stakeholders and their diverse audiences, with high attention to detail
  • Display a deep understanding of creating content that is accessible online
  • Ability to collaborate positively with your design peers and leadership to grow effective working relationships.
  • Foster positive relationships with stakeholders and providing specialist design advice.
  • Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' culture
  • High technical skills in the Adobe Creative Cloud suite - specifically Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Graphic design experience within a Government sector agency and/or inhouse design studio.
  • Show a commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi and respect and incorporate these into your work.

Oranga Tamariki offer a step-based remuneration package, that offers progression annually for experience through tenure. Annual remuneration for this position starts between $90,429 to $100,019 dependent on experience.
