MICAMHAS is part of the Child and Youth Service, which offers infant, child, and adolescent assessments, therapy, and treatment for 0 – 18-year-olds with moderate to severe mental health illness and addiction. Maternal mental health services are provided from pregnancy up to one year following the birth of the child. SUPP provides alcohol and other drug services alongside mild to moderate mental health support for 12–19-year-olds.
This role works within the MICAMHAS team to provide high-quality and effective professional support to young people and their whānau. As the clinician, you will provide client-centred assessment, therapy-based interventions, and evaluations that support young people in transitioning to wellness and developing resilience. The MICAMHAS Whanganui team values a positive team culture. You will be well supported and nurtured whilst orientating to this role, and throughout your everyday mahi as part of this team.
This role includes active participation in quality improvement projects and will require building and maintaining strong relationships with other health and social sector providers.

- a Current registration (Clinical scope) with a New Zealand Registration Authority and a current practicing certificate
- At least 3 years post-graduation work experience
- police screening that allows the ability to work with vulnerable children
- experience working in Maternal Infant child adolescent mental health and addiction fields desirable
Ngā hua o te Mahi i Te Pōari o Whanganui | Working at Te Whatu Ora Whanganui
You will be supported to develop your skills by the Clinical Management team and will be provided with opportunities for professional learning and supervision.
Child Health Services work in a multidisciplinary model, and you will be supported by allied health, medical, and nursing teams from throughout the wider Child and Youth Service.
