An exciting opportunity has become available to join our kitchen team at Mix'd Cocktail Bar.

We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our team, with a love for food and creativity, that thrives in a fast-paced and buzzy environment.

New to the Napier hospitality scene, our beachfront Cocktail Bar offers a range of high quality tapas-style share plates alongside a vast selection of Cocktails, Beer & Wine

Key responsibilities include;

  • Support the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations
  • Work closely with our Head Chef to develop and execute a menu that reflects our vision, keeping up with current food trends and seasonal offerings
  • Lead service when required, keeping quality, speed, and presentation to a high standard
  • Assist the Head Chef in managing the kitchen team, including training and inspiring junior kitchen members
  • Work closely with the bar and front of house team to ensure a collaborative team work environment and seamless flow of service
  • Ensure food meets quality and safety standards, and ensure all hygiene protocols are followed
  • Assist in managing stock levels and place orders if required
  • Time management (you will be first to arrive on site at times)

Qualities;

  • Previous experience in a similar role in a busy, fast-paced kitchen is a must
  • Culinary qualification preferred, but not essential
  • Leadership, teamwork and good communication skills
  • Maintain smart presentation and personal hygiene
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and public holidays
