He angitūtanga / The opportunity:

We are seeking a Commis Chef to join our team at a prestigious airline lounge in Auckland International Airport. In this role, you'll prepare and present high-quality dishes that meet the expectations of discerning travellers. You'll work closely with the Executive Chef and team to ensure food safety, quality control, and exceptional service standards.

Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities:

  • Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes including meat, seafood, vegetables, and baked goods.
  • Maintain kitchen hygiene and cleanliness, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
  • Receive, store, and rotate supplies while assisting with stock control and ordering.
  • Apply catering control principles to minimise waste and maintain portion control.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support on-the-job coaching when required.

He kōrero mōu / About you:

  • Holds NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Cookery or equivalent, with experience in a similar role.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, flexible attitude.
  • Physically fit, reliable, and committed to food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Able to work under pressure while maintaining professionalism and teamwork.
  • Must be available for morning, evening, and weekend shifts; Police Clearance required.
