About the role:

We're looking for a strategic and collaborative Risk Manager to join our Business Improvement team. This role plays a key part in strengthening our organisational resilience by embedding effective risk management practices across the organisation.

You'll work closely with leaders and kaimahi to identify, assess, and manage risks, ensuring our services are safe, compliant, and continuously improving. This is a great opportunity to influence systems-level change and support a culture of proactive risk awareness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the risk management framework, risk policies, and governance activities.
  • Identify and analyse strategic risks that may impact long-term goals and assess operational risks across all aspects of programmes and services.
  • Implement the operational risk register.
  • Drive collaboration with senior managers to establish risk controls and crisis management plans.
  • Embed robust business continuity plans across the Group.
  • Take the lead in implementing the emergency management framework.

About You | He kōrero mōu

We're looking for someone who brings:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, or a relevant field.
  • 5+ years proven experience in risk management, preferably within a large and complex organisation.
  • At least 2 years experience in business continuity and emergency management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of strategic and operational risk management principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience working within Social Services or the Health Sector would be advantageous.
  • A commitment to culturally responsive practice and upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand and a full NZ driver's licence.
