Description

Our team in Hornby Christchurch is looking to expand their team of machine operators within our production facility. You will be required to do heavy lifting of crates of vegetables on a daily basis, therefore someone fit and strong is desired. No need to get that gym membership

We process all sorts of vegetables and fruit, so your day will be varied. You may be working on our peeling line with potatoes, peeling pumpkins, prepping lettuce or operating the dicer machine.

Shift Days and Time: Monday to Friday starting at 7.30AM. Finish times vary depending on workloads and customer orders.  A minimum of 35 hours per week is guaranteed. Flexibility to work Saturdays is preferred.

You will need to be able to:

  • Wear PPE while you work - gown, gloves, ear-muffs, hairnet and mask.
  • Work in a refrigerated environment – between 10 to 12 degrees.
  • Lift up to 25kgs regularly during shift.


Skills And Experiences

Requirements:

  • Experience as a machine operator in the manufacturing sector is a must, food manufacturing is preferred 
  • Forklift licence is advantageous
  • Good conversational English for effective communication  
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting 
  • Enjoy being a team player
