About the Clinic
Remuera Vet Clinic is a busy, well-established practice located in the heart of Auckland. Our friendly team of four veterinarians, two receptionists, and seven nurses works together to deliver exceptional veterinary care to our loyal and appreciative clientele.
The clinic is fully equipped with:
· Four consult rooms
· Separate dog and cat wards
· Radiology room, sterile surgery theatre, and dental theatre with dental x-ray
· Full in-house diagnostics, including Zoetis AI Imagyst

About the Role
This is a full-time leadership position (40 hours per week, Monday–Friday) with some weekend work (1 in 6 Saturdays/Sundays) and one evening shift per week (until 8 PM).
As our clinic continues to grow, roster flexibility is required to meet the clinic's needs, especially during busy or holiday periods.
You'll work closely with the Clinic Coordinator and Lead Veterinarian to uphold best practice standards, lead the nursing team, and support continuous development across all areas of clinical care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the nursing team to deliver the highest standard of patient and client care
- Perform all nursing duties including anaesthesia, surgery, diagnostics, and radiology
- Conduct nurse consultations (vaccinations, arthritis treatments, laser therapy, and more)
- Manage and mentor junior and student nurses, supporting onboarding and development
- Assist the Clinic Coordinator with team meetings and professional development programs
- Oversee nurse-run dentistry (scale, polish, dental x-rays)
- Support clinic operations and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
About You
You're an experienced veterinary nurse or technologist who's ready to step into leadership. You thrive in a collaborative environment, enjoy supporting others to grow, and stay calm under pressure.
You'll bring:
· –4 years'+ experience as a qualified Veterinary Nurse or Veterinary Technologist
· Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills
· A proactive, adaptable, and positive approach to teamwork
· Passion for animal care and ongoing professional development
· Flexibility and empathy, with a drive to deliver excellent client and patient experiences
