The Role
We are seeking a
Technical Business Development Manager (BDM)
to drive growth, strengthen partnerships, and expand our reputation as a leading manufacturing solutions provider. This is a key leadership role focused on identifying, developing, and converting new business opportunities while ensuring our core operations remain strong.You'll work closely with the Group Manufacturing Manager, Operations Manager, and Head Detailer to deliver innovative solutions, support technical excellence, and champion continuous improvement across the business.
Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and convert new business opportunities across frame and truss, kitset, and offsite solutions.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, Mitre 10 partners, builders, and suppliers.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to estimation, design, and production teams.
  • Ensure technical accuracy and compliance across detailing, estimating, and production.
  • Review and improve processes, systems, and workflows for scalability and efficiency.
  • Represent Juted Frame and Truss at industry events and customer visits.
  • Monitor industry trends and provide insights into new product and market opportunities.
  • Champion health, safety, and wellbeing across all operations.

What We're Looking For
Essential:

  • 5+ years' experience in frame and truss, offsite manufacturing, or building industry roles.
  • Strong technical knowledge of NZ building systems, codes, and timber framing standards.
  • Proven track record in business development and converting opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, relationship management, and presentation skills.
  • Commercial acumen with the ability to balance technical and business priorities.
  • Self-driven, collaborative, and able to work independently.

Desirable:

  • Experience with MiTek or Pryda design platforms, Cin7, or other ERP systems.
  • Background in estimating, CRM systems, or technical sales.
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement initiatives.
