Head Coach
Eastern Suburbs Gymnastics Club (ESGC) is a vibrant and future-focused club. A non-profit organisation, we have a proud history of excellence in Women's Artistic Gymnastics, and of providing opportunities for all children and young people in our community to engage in gymnastics-based programmes. We strive to create a fun and inspiring environment to develop confidence and a lifelong love of sport. With around 600 members currently, we are in an exciting period of re-development and growth.
We have an opportunity for an experienced coach to become our Head Coach & Programme Manager. We are seeking a unique person who thrives in a busy environment, is innovative in their approach and has a passion for gymnastics.
You will lead the delivery of our programmes, assuming full day-to-day responsibility for their operation. Programmes include Women's Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) to a National competitive standard, Recreational Gymnastics, Circus, Parkour, and Playgym (Preschool gymnastics). Our Men's Artistic Gymnastics (MAG) programme is small but growing. You will provide strategic leadership for future programme development as our club grows.
As Programme Manager your goal will be to ensure an exceptional experience for our children and families. You will need a strong customer service ethic and excellent communication skills. Engaging directly with athletes and families will be a central part of the job.
We have a team of 7 "Programme Lead" coaches who lead each individual programme, and will report to you as the Programme Manager. Your responsibilities will include programme and timetable planning, rostering and scheduling, managing budgets, and running events.
Our coach team consists of around 40 part time coaches. We are committed to professional development for all staff, supporting them to progress through the Gymnastics NZ coach and judge training pathways. Mentoring, managing, and leading this team of coaches will be one of your core responsibilities.
You will work closely with the General Manager, reporting directly to them.
The ideal candidate would work on site full time. Some evening and weekend work is essential.
How to apply:
