Our Client is a widely respected New Zealand owned multi-disciplinary engineering practice that has offices in Auckland, Hamilton and Tauranga offering tailored consultancy services across 3 Waters, Geotechnical, Civil, Land Development and Environmental disciplines throughout New Zealand.

We are looking for an experienced Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer to join the team in either the Auckland, Taranga or Hamilton Office.
The Role
The Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer will be responsible for the following:
· Investigate, interpret and analyse geological processes, risks and ground conditions for land development projects.
· Aid in planning and overview site investigations, option studies for foundations, retaining walls and piles, slope stability analysis, pavement design and geotechnical hazard studies.
· Perform geotechnical analysis to assess construction site condition.
· Plan and conduct geotechnical exploration effectively.
· Perform field and environmental investigations for construction projects.
· Analyse geotechnical findings, perform appropriate calculations and prepare data reports to clients.
· Develop proposals and determine cost and schedule for investigations.
· Provide direction to technical team in field inspection activities.
· Interact with clients and team members to complete the assigned project on-time and within budget.
· Evaluate team performance and determine training needs to meet performance objectives.
· Perform role related basic office administration tasks when needed.
· Design and evaluation of constructions
· Develop design drawings and specifications for construction projects.
· Review and approve geotechnical designs developed by outside consultants.
· Review construction design proposals and approve geotechnical aspects.
· Assist clients understand geotechnical risks with land development and mitigation measures early in the development process.
· Geotechnical Design.
· Aid with the design of geotechnical elements to support infrastructure and land development projects.
· Provide slope stability analysis of natural soil and rock slopes, embankments, excavations and cut surfaces.
· Site observations, geological data and advanced modelling techniques to assess relative slope stability
Qualification, Skills & Personal Attributes Required:
· A bachelor's degree based qualification in geotechnical engineering or a related profession
· Current NZ Driver's Licence
· years of experience in a wide range of geotechnical engineering projects.
· A thorough understanding of local market, policies, regulations, and standards.
· Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including oral and written communication and particularly the ability to present information in a way that is understandable by a range of audiences.
· Ability to optimise and prioritise conflicting demands in a busy environment, to achieve deadlines and see responsibilities through to completion.
· Competent project management skills.
· Proactive in identifying business opportunities.
· Ability to work across disciplines and identify work for other groups.
· An ability to prioritise, manage workflows and work independently.
· A sound knowledge of the technical aspects of geotechnical-engineering design and the practical limitations of construction techniques and tolerances.
· Only New Zealand based Geotechnical Engineers will be considered for this role.
