He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to work amongst the heart of Auckland's water supply - working outdoors on and around dams in the greater Auckland region.

As a Dam Technician, you will be in a hands-on, operational role where your confidence in the outdoors and around water (including the ability to swim at least 50m), as well as your technical expertise will be a key prerequisite for your success.

The key tasks of the role include:

  • Operating and maintaining Headworks structures and infrastructure serviceability.

  • Maintaining effective communication and supporting the operational management of the Headworks system

  • Maintaining the hydrological network to meet required performance standards

Ngā pūkenga e rapu nei mātou | About you

In this role you will bring:

  • An appropriate technical qualification

  • A current NZ driver's license

  • An appropriate tertiary qualification in Engineering or Science is desirable but not essential

  • Experience in a similar environment with proven knowledge of safety in and around water (with the ability to swim 50m)

  • Experience using computerised database systems

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a close-knit team.
