We're looking for a proactive, passionate, and conscientious Intermediate IT Support Engineer to join our growing MSP. This is a pivotal technical role focused on delivering effective Level 2-3 technical support and ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality service.

We are looking for someone with strong technical acumen. The successful candidate will possess a customer-focused mindset and the ability to efficiently resolve escalated technical challenges. You will quickly become a trusted advisor for our varied clients. You will achieve this by developing a thorough knowledge of their specific business needs and proactively ensuring their IT operations run smoothly and reliably.

Our office is based in Rosedale, Auckland, and travel to client sites across greater Auckland (from Orewa to Pukekohe) is part of the job. Normal hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. From time to time some pre-arranged out-of-hours work may be required.

What you will do:

  • Provide end-to-end remote and on-site IT support, resolving hardware, software, server, and network-related issues/requests.
  • Configure and maintain client devices, such as laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers, meeting room tech, etc.
  • Administrate user accounts, permissions, policies and security controls across Microsoft 365 and Active Directory.
  • Maintain physical IT infrastructure, e.g. cabling, network and storage devices, and server room environments.
  • Monitor security alerts and manage endpoint protection and performance.
  • Take part in implementation and upgrade projects.
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers for hardware and software escalations.
  • Create and update IT asset records and system documentation.

Qualifications and experience:

  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in an IT support role, preferably within an MSP or similar environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, Windows Server.
  • Solid understanding of networking protocols, firewalls, and cloud technologies.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g. Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, CompTIA Network+, ITIL Foundation) are preferred but not essential.
