Graduate Geotechnical Technician/Engineer

GeoStudio Ltd is a Rosedale based mid-size engineering consultancy specialising in geotechnical engineering. Due to our growing workloads, we are currently looking for a graduate level geotechnical engineer/technician or engineering geologist.  All on-job training and professional training will be provided.

Requirements:

• 0 to 2 years relevant experience.
• Relevant engineering/geology degrees.
• NZ citizen / permanent residence.
• Full or restricted NZ driver license.
• Willingness to learn and develop skills.
• Enjoy working outdoors and be physically fit for hand augering.
• Good communication skills with fluent English speaking and writing.
• Good Microsoft Word/Excel skills.

Main responsibility:

• Perform geotechnical investigation under the instructions of a senior geotechnical engineer, including hand augering, Scala and soil testing (this could be moderately physically demanding).
• Supervise other drilling subcontractors including machine drilling and CPT.
• Preparing graphical logs, site plans and cross sections.
• Carrying out site inspections and construction observations.
• Undertake geotechnical analyses/calculations.
• Prepare geotechnical reports.
• Other general office duties as required.
