Upper Harbour, New Zealand ASSA ABLOY Full time

Keep our factory running. Help shape the future of secure, sustainable manufacturing.

We are ASSA ABLOY, the global leader in access solutions. Our Auckland team is looking for a hands-on Maintenance Engineer to help keep our production facility operating smoothly and safely.

If you are a mechanically minded problem-solver who enjoys fixing things, improving processes, and working closely with a team, this could be the right next step for you.

Why you will love this role

As our Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key part in making sure our machinery and production lines remain safe, reliable, and ready every day. Your work directly impacts our output, our quality, and the safety of the people around you.

You will not just fix problems. You will help prevent them, improve our systems, and keep our factory running at its best.

What you will be doing

In this role, you will:

  • Carry out maintenance and repairs across a range of machinery to keep production running smoothly
  • Complete preventative maintenance as part of our Total Preventative Maintenance program (TPM)
  • Use our Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to record your work accurately
  • Troubleshoot issues and perform root cause analysis to prevent repeat problems
  • Support the upkeep of our site services and quality systems including ISO 9001
  • Raise and respond to safety observations and ensure all work puts health and safety first
  • Communicate and collaborate with teams across the site
  • Look for opportunities to improve processes, systems, and equipment reliability

What you will bring

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A Level 4 Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar maintenance or engineering role
  • Strong mechanical skills including fitting and turning, welding, pneumatics, hydraulics, and safe use of power tools
  • Experience with LEAN principles and Root Cause Corrective Action methods
  • Good computer skills and the ability to learn digital systems
  • Clear communication skills and confidence working with different teams
  • Experience using SolidWorks or other CAD tools

Who you are

You will thrive in this role if you are:

  • Hands-on and proactive
  • Someone who enjoys solving problems
  • A team player who collaborates well
  • Adaptable when priorities shift
  • Safety-focused, reliable, and committed to doing quality work

Why ASSA ABLOY

At ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions New Zealand, you will be part of a supportive and experienced team that values safety, continuous improvement, and innovation. We offer stability, development opportunities, and the chance to work with a respected global brand.
