Horizon Services Limited trading as Horizon Networks is a national services provider and we are looking for an experienced Team Leader Cable Jointer. Reporting to the Supervisor, you will be responsible to:

  • Manage the day to day operations. As a Team Leader you will be responsible ensuring projects are undertaken in a timely, safely and cost effective manner.
  • Provide field based technical and Electrical services for Network & Third-Party clients including maintenance and projects.
  • To provide specialist HV & LV  jointing services for the installation, maintenance and repair of transmission and distribution cables.
  • To Undertake Electrical Distribution Faults & repairs for the Network / Third Party clients.
  • Ensure forward works are planned, scheduled, costed and resourced in order to optimise the performance of the team.

To be successful, a candidate must have the following qualifications, experience and skills:​

  • Registered Electrician 2 Years' experience
  • HV Cable Jointer Qualification
  • Distribution Line Mechanic Qualification desirable but not Essential
  • Current Manual NZ Driver's Licence
  • Current Class 2 Full Licence
  • Current Class 4 Full Licence (Desirable and Expectation once employed)
  • Familiar with industry safe work practises
  • Installation of LV pillars, distribution transformers, Ring Main Units and Switchgear
  • Electrical industry awareness training preferred
  • 2 to 5 years in associated activities
  • Experience in jointing XLPE cables up to 33kV and polymeric and/or paper lead up to 11kV would be preferred.
  • Knowledge of generation and distribution equipment (low and high voltage)
  • Thorough knowledge of and ability to maintain, transformers and switchgear rated from 400V to 33kV
  • Assist team members in ensuring sub-contractors maintain required quality and safe working practices
