Theatre Team Leader | Royston Hospital

Permanent | 64 hours per fortnight

Royston Hospital is seeking an experienced and motivated Theatre Team Leader to join our dedicated surgical services team. In this pivotal role, you will provide leadership and support within a specialised theatre environment to ensure the highest standards of patient care and operational excellence.

About the Role

As a Theatre Team Leader, you will play a key part in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across our designated specialty theatre. You will:

  • Lead and support a skilled theatre team to deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centred care
  • Ensure services are consultant- and patient-focused, responsive, and recognised for excellence
  • Work closely with the Theatre Services Manager, assisting with staffing rosters, workforce planning, and other people-management tasks
  • Actively contribute to achieving Royston Hospital's strategic goals
  • Promote collaboration, teamwork, and continuous improvement across the theatre environment

About You

You are an effective leader with strong interpersonal skills and a positive, proactive approach. You are committed to delivering high-quality surgical services and fostering a culture of safety and excellence.

You will also bring:

  • Proven leadership experience within a theatre or clinical environment
  • A current New Zealand Nursing Council Annual Practising Certificate
  • Advanced knowledge and skills in orthopaedic surgical nursing
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong risk-management abilities and a high level of professional judgement
