About the Opportunity
As a key member of the Maintenance Team, your experience as an Industrial Electrician will directly impact the success of operations. You'll work alongside a group of seasoned tradespeople, supervisors, managers, apprentices and office crew. You'll play an integral role in keeping the facility's operations running smoothly, responsible for electrical services. With a focus on safety and quality, you'll use your solid problem-solving skills to fault find and repair breakdowns with confidence. Repair or identify electrical problems using a variety of testing devices to replace wiring, equipment or fixtures. You will need confidence in troubleshooting issues that occur, strong attention to detail and overall excellent communication skills that will see you working collaboratively within the team and across our workshop/site.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- NZ registered Electrician (Certificate in Electrical Engineering L4 or higher)
- Current practising licence
- Proven experience in industrial electrical work is essential.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Experience with automated CNC machines would be an advantage
- Supportive communication to production, maintenance and engineering personnel on project, maintenance and breakdown issues with a 'can do' attitude and working as a team to develop appropriate solutions.

Established in 1958, Culham Engineering has 67 years' experience in heavy engineering, petrochemical, industrial maintenance and the construction industry with branches located in Whangarei, Tokoroa, Kawerau and Auckland. Our fabrication facility in Whangarei, is one of New Zealand's largest. We also have our own in-house blasting and painting facility, heavy haulage and craneage.
