About the role | Ko te kaupapa

We are looking to appoint up to four passionate ECE Lecturers|Kaiako, who can help scaffold students to become confident, professional teachers or leaders.  Two of these roles will be teaching in our Matauranga Māori roles. Our varied programme reflects our commitment to bicultural kaupapa and the best of local and international research and practise. Our Academic staff teach across the programme at Undergraduate, Graduate or Postgraduate level.

Based in our Manukau, Wellington or Nelson locations, you will work with your local colleagues, as well as collaboratively with the wider academic teaching team.

For this role we require the following:

• Experience or strong interest in teaching and mentoring adults at tertiary level
• Knowledge in te reo Māori and a strong understanding of Māori culture & values is preferred if teaching in the Matauranga Māori papers
• Full Teacher registration essential
• Experience in eLearning, particularly desirable
• A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and to growing bicultural practice
• A PhD degree is desirable, Masters' in ECE is essential
• Strong community networks
• Provision of academic and pastoral support to students (tauira), guiding them through their studies
• ECE sector experience
• Engagement in professional development to stay current with best practice in tertiary education
• Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
• A current full drivers' licence and vehicle for work use
