Are you a passionate and qualified early childhood educator looking for an enriching opportunity to make a difference in the lives of tamariki? We are seeking a dedicated and registered kaiako to join our centre which is attached to the Teen Parent Unit at William Colenso College. Start date is for 26th January 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for mixed-aged tamariki.

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and experiences.

  • Foster positive relationships with both tamariki and whānau (families).

  • Collaborate with a team of educators to ensure the highest standard of care and education.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Fully qualified and registered early childhood teacher.

  • Strong understanding of Te Whāriki, the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum.

  • Passion for working with mixed-aged groups and promoting holistic child development.

  • Effective communication skills and ability to engage positively with whānau.

Working Conditions:

  • Term time only, offering a healthy work-life balance.

  • Monday to Friday schedule, providing consistency for both staff and tamariki.

  • Opportunity to work in a centre with a maximum capacity of 38 tamariki.
