CHB Earthmovers is seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join our team. You'll be operating excavators ranging from 10 to 60 tonnes, along with other earthmoving machinery as needed, to deliver top-quality work across a variety of projects throughout the region.

You will need to demonstrate:

  • Experience working with GPS, final trim and bulk excavation
  • Site Foreman experience would be advantageous and remunerated accordingly
  • Full NZ driver's licence and WTR endorsement
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices
  • A positive attitude, reliability, and enthusiasm for getting the job done right
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug test

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Operating excavators safely and professionally
  • Conducting toolbox meetings along with carrying out daily pre-start and maintenance checks,
  • Communicating clearly with other staff and subcontractors to ensure safe site operations and providing direction to the team when required
  • Reviewing and following site-specific safety plans (SWMS/SSSP) and all relevant permits including site plans / drawings
  • Completing health, safety, and site documentation as required
  • From time to time, operating other machinery (dump truck, roller, compactor, water cart, grader, or scraper)
  • Maintaining the yard and equipment to a high standard
  • Attending safety meetings and training sessions and quality meetings
