Kiwibank is challenging the status quo by building a modern cloud-based data platform that supports all our data use cases in a friction-free way. As Lead Engineer, you'll feel energised by leading a small group of engineers and working hands-on with CI/CD, Agile workflows and DevOps practices.

Key skills and experience we're looking for:

  • Proven experience designing, delivering and operating complex systems, ideally with Kimball-style data warehouses built on Data Vault 2.0.
  • Expert development and testing skills, with extensive experience in Wherescape RED and SQL Server.
  • Confidence in Python and understanding of Powershell.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server administration, High Availability and SAN architecture.
  • Experience administering PowerBI, Reportserver and Microsoft Master Data Services.
  • Strong data modelling, database design and high-level solution architecture skills.
  • Ability to manage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience solving a wide range of data-related design, use and delivery challenges.
  • Passion for reducing toil and removing low-value tasks from engineering workflows.

Bonus

  • Experience leading engineering teams in a cloud migration or modernisation context.
  • Familiarity with Azure Data Services or similar cloud-native data platforms.
