Homegrown Juice Company Ltd is seeking an experienced and proactive Quality Assurance Manager to join our Hastings manufacturing site. This is a key leadership role for an experienced professional who combines strategic quality management with a strong presence on the factory floor.
About the Role
Reporting to senior management, the Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for maintaining and continuously improving all aspects of product quality, food safety, and compliance. You'll be hands-on — leading by example to assist and support operators on the production floor, ensuring our systems and standards are maintained.
You will drive Lean Manufacturing principles and foster a quality-focused culture, empowering our teams to deliver the highest standards of excellence every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the site Quality and Food Safety functions
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, customer, and internal quality standards (HACCP, MPI, SQF, etc.)
- Assist the Technical Manager to oversee scheduled audits, inspections, and verification programs
- Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste
- Build capability and accountability across production teams through training and coaching
- Assisting with the inhouse laboratory operations
- Assist with product development processes
- Investigate non-conformances, manage corrective actions, and implement preventative measures
- Provide accurate quality reporting and insights to management
- Champion continuous improvement across all operations
About You
You're an experienced quality professional with a solid background in the food or beverage manufacturing sector. You're just as comfortable engaging with your team on the factory floor as you are presenting to management. You take pride in leading by example, solving problems collaboratively, and building a culture where quality is everyone's responsibility.
You'll bring:
- 5+ years' experience in Quality Management within food or beverage manufacturing
- Strong understanding of food safety systems, HACCP, and regulatory compliance
- Proven ability to lead and influence teams in a manufacturing environment
- Practical experience with Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement tools
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and analytical skills
- A proactive, hands-on approach and genuine passion for quality
