Digital Identity Trust Framework Authority

Do you have an interest for making a positive difference for New Zealand? If so, consider becoming a member of the Digital Identity Trust Framework Authority (the Authority).

The Department of Internal Affairs is calling for applications from individuals with a strong interest and experience in digital identity and regulation to ensure the Authority makes decisions of the highest standard.

What is the Digital Identity Trust Framework Authority?

The Authority is an independent body, established under the Digital Identity Trust Framework Act 2023 (the Act). The Authority regulates the provision of digital identity services. Its role is to carry out the functions of the Authority as specified in section 60 of the Act.

The Authority is seeking up to five members from the private and public sectors. Members, including the Presiding Member, are appointed by the Secretary of Internal Affairs for terms of up to three years, and can be reappointed.

What skills and experience do a member of the Digital Identity Trust Framework Authority need?

As a member, you should bring a mix of knowledge and experience in digital identity, regulatory decision making, digital identity services and applications, administering industry accreditation, complaints and investigation processes, compliance and monitoring, and governance experience.
