At sKids, we believe childhood should be full of laughter, learning, and adventure Since 1996, we've been creating awesome out-of-school experiences for tamariki across New Zealand. Today, we welcome more than 3,800 kids every day at over 170 school sites – and we're still growing
When you work with us, you get to unleash your inner child. Think: messy art, science experiments, sports showdowns, cooking classes, and plenty of silly games. No two days are the same – and that's how we like it
Job DescriptionAs a Programme Manager, you'll be the friendly face that makes our mornings and afternoons unforgettable for children. You'll work a minimum of 15 contracted hours per week – mornings (7:00–8:30am), afternoons (2:30–6:00pm depending on programme requirements), and potentially extra hours during the school holidays (between 7:00am–6:00pm). The role is located in our sKids Orakei site, however we are also hiring for the same role in our sKids St Ignatius school site located in St Heliers. Both of the sites are in close distance. If you have a preferred site, please inform your Recruiter.
Here's what you'll be up to
- Be the superstar running our sKids programmes day-to-day from set-up to smooth operations – while building awesome relationships with our school communities
- Supervise and join Tamariki in awesome activities like arts & crafts, sports, games, offsite adventures (swimming, walks, picnics, movies), baking, drama, and music
- Lead safe, fun, and engaging sessions that keep kids buzzing while making sure everything runs smoothly
- Be the friendly, go-to face for parents and schools, keeping communication warm and positive
- Guide, support, and inspire your team to shine and bring their best every day
- Arrive early to prep activities, co-ordinate Programme Assistants, and set up resources for a smooth start
Perks & Benefits
- 50% discount on selected sKids programmes – perfect for your own children
- Referral bonus – bring awesome people into our team and earn up to $250 per referral
- Work-life balance – no weekend work and the middle of the day free for your own time
- Employee Assistance Programme – access wellbeing support when you need it
- A fun, supportive crew who love what they do and celebrate each other's wins
We'd love to hear from you if you:
- Have the right to work in New Zealand (valid visa or citizenship)
- Can get to our sKids Orakei site + some other sites around the area.
- Bring your enthusiasm and leadership for working with kids – whether through coaching, teaching, mentoring, or running activities, you know how to inspire and guide Tamariki
- Have proven experience leading or organising before & after school programmes (or similar children's services) is a big plus – we're looking for someone who can manage operations, people, and create awesome experiences for kids
- Are over the age of 20 years old, in order to comply with Social Security (Childcare Assistance) Regulations 2004.
