Academic Staff Member:

Study and Career Preparation Tutor

  • New Plymouth based
  • Fixed-term until mid December 2026
  • Part-time (28.8 hours per week)
  • To start late January 2026

About the role:

This is an opportunity to join the Foundation Studies team at WITT in an Academic Staff Member position.

In this role, you will be responsible for the coordination and delivery of the Level 4 NZ Certificate in Study and Employment Pathways course where you will help students develop core skills for further study or career opportunities. Tasks include teaching, marking, moderation, reporting, as well as working as a key member of a collaborative team.

About you:

You will have

  • A relevant tertiary qualification.
  • An understanding of academic writing.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A passion for understanding and ensuring learner success.
  • The ability to provide motivation and guidance to a diverse range of learners.
  • Digital literacy and effective organisational skills.
  • Experience in secondary or tertiary teaching (highly regarded, however not essential).
