Young Enterprise Scheme Coordinator – Fixed Term – 11 months (19 January December hours per week

The Taranaki Chamber of Commerce is a well-established and respected organisation that has been at the forefront of promoting, supporting and enabling business in Taranaki since We deliver a broad range of services to our members, including events, training, advocacy, employment services and coordination of the Young Enterprise Scheme, Network of Trades and the Business and Retail Association.

For over 20 years, the Taranaki Chamber of Commerce has been contracted to run the Lion Foundation Young Enterprise Scheme. It is an opportunity for high school students to experience the start-up world first-hand, by setting up and running a real business.

We are seeking a confident, dynamic and self-motivated individual to provide cover for maternity leave on a fixed term contract. If you are passionate about working with young people, have exemplary communication skills, flexibility and strong relationship management skills then this may be the ideal opportunity for you.

We can offer a vibrant and supportive team environment with excellent working conditions to enable work/life balance. Your responsibilities will include:

·       Regular communication with students, teachers and businesses

·       Close liaison with the Young Enterprise Trust and facilitation of the YES annual programme

·       Retention of existing schools and growth of student participants

·       Recruitment of new schools and teachers

We are looking for someone with the following skills and abilities for this role:

·       Strong organisational, time management and prioritisation skills

·       Strategic and innovative thinker

·       Self‐motivated and driven

·       Excellent communication, networking and relationship building skills

·       Strong stakeholder management skills

·       Knowledge of, or experience in the secondary education sector would be an advantage
